Hi! I'm Frank, a student of Robert Kennedy College.
Let me tell you a bit about myself.
Frank Schuerch is currently working as CEO of the energy-cluster.ch in Berne, Switzerland. With the vision of a CO2-neutral energy world, he promotes solutions in the area of energy efficiency and renewable energies. He connects people, informs and pushes the market entry of innovative and sustainable energy solutions through trainings, events, congresses and webinars. He coordinates academic and research work with industrial and applied science and products.
Before he was Councillor at the Swiss Embassy in Russia, responsible for domestic policy, human rights and the Georgian Protection Mandate. From 2013 – 2016 he served as Deputy Head of Mission in the Swiss Embassy in Chile. He specialized in leading teams, the areas of energy, assets&liabilities, promoting companies and/or support them while entering new markets, mediation and negotiation.
Before he served as Deputy Special Envoy for Sudan and the Horn of Africa. Prior to Mai 2009, he served as a diplomatic attaché within the Swiss Embassy in Mexico.
Since 1999, before joining the Swiss diplomatic corps, he served in various functions for the International Committee of The Red Cross (ICRC). As an ICRC delegate he has worked in conflict areas in Africa (Uganda, Burundi and Algeria), Latin America (Peru and Colombia), Middle East (Lebanon) and Central Asia (Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan) where he specialized in the fields of protection of the civilian populations and negotiations with irregular armed groups.
Between 1994 and 1999, Mr. Schuerch worked in the Swiss private sector in the field of telecommunications where he set up a company from scratch. He's a proven salesperson, innovative, result-oriented, a problem solver and hardworking.
He graduated in Political Science from the University of Lausanne in Switzerland. In 1993 he specialized at the “Institute des Hautes Etudes en Administration Publique” in Chavannes-près-Renens, in the field of New Public Management and its introduction in the public administration of the Ghaza strip. He holds an MBA from Cumbria University & Robert Kennedy College Zürich and is a trained ZfU Board Member. He fluently speaks German, Swiss German, French, Spanisch, English, Italian and Russian.
It was a great journey not only to increase and consolidate my management knowhow, but also to network with incredible personalities from all around the world!
