Hi! I'm Samuel, a student of Robert Kennedy College.
Let me tell you a bit about myself.
I have 10+ years’ experience utilising data to make informed business decisions and manage process improvements specialising in subsea robotics & engineering. In addition, I have 5+ years’ IT management, including database and systems administration.
Latterly I made the decision to return to study at RKC and improve my data analytics techniques with sound academical methodologies. During which I crafted a dissertation topic ‐ A study of machine learning algorithms used within data analysis to determine property pricing prediction models for homogenous public housing in Singapore.
Completing the master’s program with RKC and University of Cumbria was a thoroughly enjoyable experience that re-focused my career on the usage of data and how to manipulate data into the best resource to leverage, gain insights, and promote better data-driven decision-making.
My role has now changed to Innovation and Platform Development working with Artificial Intelligence techniques within SaaS applications to deliver data governance solutions.
Having the ability to stop, rewind and grab a fresh cup of tea during lectures worked for me. I also found myself being able to check and expand on content that I was unsure of without missing parts as is possible in face-to-face lectures. The live sessions were frequent and long enough to get benefit for the course hand ins.
At masters level most of the time is spent doing research. I recommend learning how to use the citation functions in Word, learn how to find papers and store them methodically as these skills alone will help make the most of your study time.
